Scrubber
They are made with structure, external casing and water collection tank AISI 304 stainless steel, PVC exchange pack, water collectors in galvanized tube, polyethylene sprayers, PVC droplet separator fan with galvanized ring a hot, aluminum impeller with nylon blades and explosion proof, certified motor ATEX.
They must be installed adjacent to the outer wall of the engine room and can they can be mounted either inside or outside with suction and delivery “a free mouth ”, if a duct is foreseen the engine must be adequately oversized (to be requested).
Gencold scrubbers are designed to reduce the amount of ammonia contained in an air current of about 10,000 p.p.m. (considered the maximum admissible in the engine room to avoid the explosive mixture) up to about 100 p.p.m. (considered a dangerous level, but acceptable for short periods of exposure) using a flow rate of clean water recirculated in a tank of no less capacity to that indicated for each model.
The abatement tests were carried out on the 6000 horizontal model mc/h, working with an open mouth, equipped with 6 sprayers of 30 l / min (equal to 10.8 mc/h) fed with a pressure of 1.2 bar and given the similarity considered valid also for the 4.000, 8000 and 12.000 mc/h models and for all the vertical ones. They are suitable to be mounted as extraction fans on engine rooms to ammonia.
The standard configuration is to be hung from the top.
The sizing of the aforementioned extraction fans must be done in a way proportional to the ammonia content of the plant.

In the following, for each scrubber, the maximum quantity of ammonia is indicated in the plant on which it will be mounted calculated with the previous formula. In cases of larger amounts of ammonia, the is comm.only accepted possibility of montrne more than one in parallel, however still to be verified with the competent authority.
Normally it is accepted as a water storage tank, the same used for the discharge of the safety valves, however, this too must be verified c.s.
